Description

You are invited by University of Exeter, acting on behalf of itself, to Tender for admission to a Framework Agreement for the provision of Network Cabling Services in accordance with this Invitation To Tender (ITT). The University intends to award the resulting Framework Agreement to upto 3 Suppliers for a period of 4 years.

Framework operation description

The University intends to award a four (4) year agreement with up to three (3) suppliers in order to facilitate parallel installation activities where the opportunity to do so arises. The top 3 scoring suppliers will be invited to enter into a Framework Agreement, whereby subsequent work will be committed through a Call Off Contract process. Whereby, Call Off Contracts will either be entered into further to a Mini Competition process or where operational needs require through a Direct Award to the highest scoring bid of the three suppliers on the Framework Agreement. The expectation is that the University will require some 600 to 800 Access Points to be installed in the initial 12 months of the Framework Agreement. An indicative initial plan has been included as per Appendix A to give an indication of the number of buildings, and initial number and type of Access Point to be installed.

Technical ability conditions of participation

Organisational standards : Compliance to standards Suppliers submitting tender responses in respect to this requirement for Network Cabling Services must be conversant and compliant with recognised standards to include; BS 6701:2016+A1:2017 Telecommunications equipment and telecommunications cabling. Specification for installation, operation and maintenance - Specification for installation, operation and maintenance. BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 IET Wiring Regulations BS EN 50173-1:2018 Information technology. Generic cabling systems - General requirements BS EN 50173-2:2007+A1:2010 Information technology. Generic cabling systems - Office premises BS EN 50173-6:2018 Information technology. Generic cabling systems - Distributed building services BS EN 50174-1:2018+A1:2020 Information technology. Cabling installation - Installation specification and quality assurance BS EN 50174-2:2018 Information technology. Cabling installation - Installation planning and practices inside buildings BS EN 50346:2002+A2:2009 Information technology. Cabling installation. Testing of installed cabling Based on this condition of participation in respect to specified organisational qualifications or standards, please provide details of how these are met and maintained. Note: Other equivalent standards that equal or exceed what has been requested are acceptable. Where compliant with these alternative standards as opposed to the above please provide details as to how these are met and maintained. Out of Hours availability Due to the dynamic utilisation of our education and workspaces we require our Network Cabling Services to be performed outside of normal working hours (i.e. outside Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:00).
