two.1.4) Short description

The Contracting Authority, in itscapacity as Police Authority, is intending to award under the Competitive Process of the PSR a proposed contract for a duration of 2 years with an option to extend for an additional 2 years, in 1-year increments.

This intention is for the provision of Physiotherapy Services for the City of London Police (COLP). The service requirement includes the Occupational health and Physiotherapy Services.

The Contract for the provision of the relevant service will initially be for a period of 2 year commencing on 01 August 2025 with an option to renew the Contract for a further 2 years subject to satisfactory performance and effective service delivery.

The City of London Corporation and the City of London Police operate a multi-disciplinary Occupational Health Service (OHS). The team is made up of Occupational Health Advisers, Occupational Health Physician, CBT therapist, Physiotherapist, Counsellor and psychological services and Occupational Health Administrative support.

The COL and COLP are currently tendering for the provision of occupational health physiotherapy services to provide functional capability assessments, rehabilitation programmers, treatment for musculoskeletal conditions and advice, guidance and consultation on workplace ergonomics, musculoskeletal (MSK) health promotion and fitness. The purpose of the service is to both improve attendance management and provide support for people to remain at or getting back to work in a fully functional capacity as soon as possible. The OH service is looking to develop the Physiotherapy role exploring ways to actively engage management in supporting rehabilitation.

This intended award is for the provision of Physiotherapy Services for the City of London Police (COLP). The service requirement includes the provision of Occupational Health Physiotherapy services for 2 days per week (14 hours) for 45 weeks a year.

It is intended the Services will commence from the 1st August 2025 until the 31st July 2027.

The Contracting Authority, in it’s capacity as Police Authority, is intending to award the contract in accordance with the PSR under the Competitive Process

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice for the purposes of Regulation 11 (9) of the PSR.

The publication of this notice marks the start of the 8 working day mandatory standstill period. which will be introduced the day after this notice is published. Written representations by providers must be made to decision makers before midnight on the [] 2025. The contract has not yet formally been awarded. This notice serves as an intention to award under the Competitive Process of the PSR.

Approval has been obtained in accordance with the Contracting Authority’s own internal governance to award the contract via the Competitive Process of the PSR.

In accordance with Regulation 21 of the PSR any potential conflicts of interest have been considered, there are no conflicts of interest to declare. Where any conflicts of interest may arise during the contract the Contracting Authority will manage any conflicts in accordance with the Contracting Authority’s own internal governance.
