Scope

Description

Yeovil Without Parish Council are seeking the design, supply and installation Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), play area, fitness equipment, and community open space at Wyndham Park, Yeovil. This project will be delivered in two phases:

• Phase 1: The development of a MUGA, play area, and fitness equipment, for which funding has already been secured.

• Phase 2: The creation of a concept design and quote for a community open space to enable future funding and development.

Early market engagement to assist in overcoming the delays experienced thus far and to gain insight into potential solutions.

The formal tender notice will be published on 1st August 2025.

Engagement process description

Phase 1:

Scope:

Development of a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) suitable for various sports and recreational activities.

Design and installation of an inclusive play area catering to 18 months to 5 year children's age groups and abilities.

Supply and installation of outdoor fitness equipment for community health and wellness.

Funding: Funding for this phase has already been secured.

Phase 2:

Scope:

Development of a concept design and costed quote for a community open space to enable future funding and further development.

This phase is aimed at generating a design proposal that will allow the council to apply for additional funding and carry the project forward.

Background and Rationale:

This project has faced some delays due to the amalgamation of the principal authority and the confirmation of S106 funding. Early market engagement is now being sought to streamline the process and expedite decision-making, ensuring timely delivery of the project phases.
