Cruse Bereavement Support is a support Service for those bereaved at any age. It aims to promote the wellbeing of bereaved people and to enable anyone suffering a bereavement to understand their grief and cope with their loss.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Hertfordshire County Council has a requirement for a bereavement support service. The service provides information, support, and advice. Bereavement support can be provided one to one or as part of a Group with a bereavement support worker. Advice is provided via telephone, email, or the via the internet. The service also runs an all-age helpline for young people age 5 to 18, and adults.

The Council is intending to award this contract to our existing provider following Direct Award Process C under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR.)

The contract will commence on 4th August 2025 until 3rd August 2028 with the option to extend for an additional 2 years until 3rd August 2030.

The approximate life time value of this contract is stated in II.1.7 above and includes the value of any possible extensions.

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.

The publication of this notice marks the start of the standstill period.

Representations by providers must be made to the relevant authority by 1st August 2025.

This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR.
