Description
This procurement is required for peatland restoration projects in the Forest of Bowland.
Works are required to take place between mid September 2025 and mid March 2026. Works are not permitted outside of these times due to access restrictions to the land.
The scope of the work covers reprofiling work, peat dams/grip blocking, peat bunding and stone dams and stone baffles. Work is required in 4 geographical areas that cover approximately 408 hectares in total.
Lancashire County Council is seeking experienced contractors who must be able to provide evidence and references for undertaking similar projects. Restrictions are also in place for the type of machinery to be used on the fells.

Award criteria
Stage 1: The tenderer must complete the Procurement Specific Questionnaire (Pass/Fail)
Stage 2: The tender shall be weighted 50% quality and 50% price.
Quality score questions shall be used to evaluate the tenderers responses to questions for specific areas of importance to the Council including management of equipment and resources, health and safety and social value.
Price shall be evaluated per Lot.
Stage 3: Evidence shall be requested to support the responses to Stage 1 (PSQ). The Council will also request references of previous work undertaken. The references must clearly demonstrate that the tenderer has previous experience and the necessary technical competence and professional capability to perform the work.
Tenderers may be successful for a maximum of 2 Lots.
