City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, plans to appoint a provider, via a competitive tender process to increase access to healthy and nutritious food for people living in areas of high deprivation, experiencing health inequalities (specifically those with long term health conditions), and from lower socio-economic groups to: • Tackle food poverty and insecurity • Help promote healthy eating habits through access to fresh fruit and vegetables • Improve health and well-being and combat increasing levels of obesity and health inequalities • To support a healthy and sustainable food economy in the district • Help tackle the inequality that exists in morbidity and mortality in the district
