two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Prior Notification of the procurement of a Domestic Abuse Support Service

Subject to Cabinet approval, Wakefield Council are seeking to procure a Domestic Abuse Support Service which will meet the needs of all victim-survivors and their families experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse and perpetrators of domestic abuse. The Service will operate a trauma informed whole family approach to ensure that a range of services and interventions are available, including support for high-risk victim-survivors, recovery and confidence building, specialist work with children and young people, access to accommodation that is safe and appropriate and perpetrator disruption and support, plus a training offer for the workforce in the District.

The Contract will be for a period of 3 years with an option to extend for up to a further 3 years with an expected commencement date of 1st October 2025.

The Contract is proposed to be a single lot with a lead provider, with the Council welcoming a multi-organisational delivery model through sub-contracting or consortia arrangements to support SME organisations and the Third sector.

It is anticipated that the tender opportunity will be published on 15th January 2025.

Bidder Event and Networking Opportunity

Following publication of the tender, the Council plan to hold an in-person Bidder event on the morning of 23rd January 2025 at Wakefield Town Hall. Proposed purpose of the event will include:

• Presentation on the proposed Service and tender process from the commissioners and Council teams

• Question-and-answer session

• ‘Marketplace’ networking opportunity to allow potential providers of related services to introduce themselves and engage with each other in order to facilitate potential sub-contracting and consortium arrangements

Details of the Bidder event list of attendees is proposed to be shared in advance of the event, to facilitate the Marketplace networking opportunity. If providers wish to attend, please send the following details to daforum@wakefield.gov.uk no later than Monday 20th January 2025 12 noon:
