Explanation:

Synlab is an external provider of genetic testing which has successfully resolved backlogs of testing for another Genomic Medicine Service laboratory. Given the clinical risk associated with backlogs of genetic tests for patients identified with clinical symptoms of familial hypercholesterolemia and their relatives, resolving the backlog of genetic tests without delays is critical. Therefore, with the current capacity and proven track record of accredited work for the NHS, Synlab is the sole provider for this work.
