To reflect this, a permanent memorial will be erected in St James’s Park London.

The site will include the area of St James’s Park adjacent to the Mall at Marlborough

Gate, and land surrounding the pathway down to the lake, including the Blue Bridge.

The site is close to the ceremonial route of The Mall, Buckingham Palace, the

Commonwealth Headquarters, statues of her parents and other monarchs.

The aim is to create a landmark memorial that celebrates and honours Queen

Elizabeth II and which is of outstanding aesthetic quality and of its time.
