Gateshead Council (The Council), require a Contractor who can provide a fully managed and comprehensive tyre supply service, inclusive of maintenance, fitting and associated services. This requirement is to be supplied by a single Contractor.

The Contract will provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year cover for all tyre replacement and repair service.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Gateshead Council (The Council), require a Contractor who can provide a fully managed and comprehensive tyre supply service, inclusive of maintenance, fitting and associated services. This requirement is to be supplied by a single Contractor.

The Contract will provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year cover for all tyre replacement and repair service. The Contractor and any sub-contractor(s) are required to adhere to current transport legislation and comply with current environmental legislation, with regards to tyre disposal methods.

The Council operates a fleet of approximately 300 Council owned and 450 hire vehicles (in addition to short term hire) ranging from;

• Car derived vans and light commercial vehicles (under 3.5 tonne)

• Vehicles over 3.5 tonne including specialist vehicles

• Refuse collection vehicles (up to 26 tonne)

• Plant vehicles (ranging from ride on mowers to agricultural tractors).

The Councils requirement will cover a managed service at the Councils depot(s) in addition to a roadside service.
