a contract has been awarded to Health Now Ltd for the provision of echocardiogram insourcing services. The registered office of Health Now Ltd is located at 3 Lower Thames Street, St. Magnus House, London, EC3R HD.
This contract was awarded on an urgent basis under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). The Trust is commissioned to deliver echocardiogram services across Mid and South Essex. However, staffing challenges, including the loss of four qualified echocardiographers since April, have created a significant capacity shortfall, particularly at Broomfield Hospital, where waiting lists currently exceed 13 weeks. The delay in patients receiving echocardiograms poses a clinical risk that required immediate action.
Due to the urgency of the situation, the Trust did not have sufficient time to conduct a competitive procurement process. Instead, the award was made using the SBS Framework for Insourcing of Clinical Support Services, which is compliant with PSR regulations. This short-term contract, designed to address the backlog, commenced on October 12, 2024, and will expire on January 11, 2025.
We can confirm that no conflict of interest was identified among the individuals involved in the urgent award decision. This solution ensures that we can continue to deliver critical care to our patients while addressing current capacity challenges.
