Description
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) are undertaking a Pre-Market Engagement (PME) activity for the below requirement.
The NFRS Estates department will be initiating a project throughout this financial year for a compartment fire behaviour unit & associated building works. As you may be aware, we are required to adhere to strict procurement procedures. This Pre-Market Engagement (PME) activity seeks information relating to the NFRS Compartment Fire Behaviour Training facilities.
The Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (CFBT) Unit is a specialist risk critical, mandatory training requirement for operational crews. The unit provides firefighting crews with the ability to initiate and sustain a carbonaceous fire and facilitate the release or containment of fire gases in a safe, controlled environment. The unit can be used to demonstrate the correct door entry procedure, extinguishing, cooling and ventilation techniques allowing students to understand the hazards and risks presented by this environment.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) is preparing to initiate a procurement process to establish a contract for the acquisition of a single 40ft shipping container which will be repurposed and modified to create a Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Unit. In addition to this to undertake the associated building works in relation to the installation of the Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Unit. The works will include but are not limited to: -
• Forming concrete foundations/slab and sub-base
• Creation of hardstanding surface areas (concrete/tarmacadam)
• Installation of foul drains including implementing new drainage channel, inspection chambers, pumps, interceptors (where necessary) and connecting them to the existing foul drain.
• Installation of any lighting protection and any mechanical and electrical elements (where necessary).

Please note the following general conditions:
• Your responses will help us to refine our requirements.
• Nothing in the PME activity shall constitute a commitment to ordering or awarding a contract.
