two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Phase 4 of the Royal Bournemouth Hospital electrical infrastructure upgrade works is to provide new incoming electrical capacity to the Wessex Fields site to the east of the existing Healthcare site. This capacity is required to allow both redevelopment projects already in progress and some of those planned by the Trust for the next fifteen years.
The Trust have secured 10MVA of capacity on a n+1 basis from the SSEN network in 2022, with two 11kV 630A feeders referenced E5 and E6, confirmed from Boscombe East primary. This proposal was accepted by the Trust and SSEN in October 2022 with a partial payment of the non-contestable elements already paid by the Trust.
The ICP / IDNO shall install the new Path A / Path B parallel 11kV feeder cables, from Boscombe East primary substation to a new secondary substation on Wessex Fields. This substation will be referenced Bournemouth Hospital North ISS. The ICP/IDNO will be required to provide all necessary design proposals for SSEN and UHD acceptance prior to commencing works and will do so without delay or provide any reason for SSEN withdrawal of capacity.
