Over the next several years, Diamond Light source will require several X-ray mirror systems for beamlines. Most of these will be complete systems, including goniometry, vacuum vessels, and some bending mechanisms (mechanical or bimorph) and others may be for just the mirrors. The mirrors will be manufactured from flat and cylindrically polished substrate materials, with various surface coatings. Mirrors that are illuminating by the direct synchrotron beam will require appropriate water-cooling circuits. Shape error and roughness requirements will be very stringent.
