The V&A Museum requires a new Storage Area Network (SAN) solution to support the museum over the at least the next 5 years. The current solution is planned to be end of life in December 2024 and therefore a program for the replacement of the solution is required.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

This contract includes the new SAN; all associated hardware; related services including consultancy, design and project management; installation and testing; migration to the new solution; and support for five years. The V&A currently has sites in South Kensington, Bethnal Green, Stratford and Salisbury, but it is anticipated that there may be sites added or removed over the contract duration.

The SAN shall include iSCSI, fibre switches, file shares, storage array & controllers to create the

solution.

The V&A Museum currently has 2No. SAN’s with associated equipment that require replacement.

Collectively The V&A is currently using 40TB of storage for VMware virtual servers, and 575TB of file storage presented via DFS file shares, an estimated 39.6 million files, at the domain level to the network.

Please note that the contract duration of five years will start on the go-live date and therefore does not include installation, testing etc.
