The provider NHS Dorset are procuring will lead the workforce workstream of the Oral Health Programme focusing primarily on securing, developing, and training the oral health workforce, with a particular emphasis on addressing health inequalities.
Their contribution will be essential to ensuring a capable, sustainable, and well-trained workforce that can deliver high-quality and equitable care within NHS Dorset Oral Health services.
The value of this procurement is £180,000 (excl VAT) for the first year with an option to extend upto 3 years on a 1+1+1 year basis.

The provider NHS Dorset are procuring will lead the workforce workstream of the Oral Health Programme focusing primarily on securing, developing, and training the oral health workforce, with a particular emphasis on addressing health inequalities.
Their contribution will be essential to ensuring a capable, sustainable, and well-trained workforce that can deliver high-quality and equitable care within NHS Dorset Oral Health services.
The provider will deliver a workforce development service that focuses on securing, training, and developing the oral health (OH) workforce in Dorset, as part of the Oral Health Institute.
This service will ensure the availability of a well-trained, competent workforce capable of addressing the needs of the Dorset population while contributing to the broader oral health objectives of improving access, prevention, and reducing health inequalities.
The service will include the development of pre- and post-registration training, continuing professional development (CPD), and collaborative programmes aimed at healthcare professionals within the oral health sector.

• Prevention: An upskilled workforce, including non-oral health professionals, to enhance the delivery of oral health education and preventive care.
• Data: Workforce intelligence developed by the provider, to contribute to increased understanding of the oral health landscape, supporting targeted interventions and data-driven decision-making for the programme.
In summary, the provider must play a critical role in ensuring that a skilled and sustainable workforce is in place, directly supporting the success of the overall Oral Health Programme.

• Development and consensus on a sustainable model for the OHI
