Babcock Land Defence Ltd, acting as agent for the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to negotiate a contract using the Negotiated Procedure Without Prior Publication pursuant to Regulation 32(2)(b)(ii) of the PCR Contracts Regulations 2015 to Yamaha Motor Europe Ltd on the basis that, Yamaha Motor Europe Ltd, in its capacity as Design Authority, are the sole manufacturer of spares, components and associated items for the Yamaha Quadbike and will only supply direct to the UK Ministry of Defence.

Babcock Land Defence Ltd, acting as agent for the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to negotiate a contract using the Negotiated Procedure Without Prior Publication pursuant to Regulation 32(2)(b)(ii) of the PCR Contracts Regulations 2015 to Yamaha Motor Europe Ltd on the basis that, Yamaha Motor Europe Ltd, in its capacity as Design Authority, are the sole manufacturer of spares, components and associated items for the Yamaha Quadbike and will only supply direct to the UK Ministry of Defence. They own the rights to the technical specifications required to undertake the manufacture, testing and supply. Yamaha have stated that they are not willing to share this knowledge/expertise with any third party, including the UK Ministry of Defence. Without access to this, the UK Ministry of Defence is not in a position to be able to identify the exact technical requirements for the material or manufacture and as a result, Yamaha Motor Europe are the only supplier able to fulfil this Contract.

This notice is not a request for expressions of interest so please do not apply to be invited to tender. Babcock is to negotiate a single source Contract with the named supplier.
