two.1.4) Short description

The contract on offer is for 36 months with the option to extend for a further 24 months for delivering Healthwatch services within the borough of Rochdale to all service users.

Healthwatch Rochdale will develop ongoing working relationships with Rochdale Borough Council, Health, Schools and Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

These working relationships will include effective communication channels between Healthwatch Rochdale and the scrutiny panel, to share information, align work programmes, ensure the best use of resources and avoid duplication of work, and attendance at panel meetings as appropriate.

The Health Schools and Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee, has responsibility for carrying out the overview and scrutiny work in relation to all health services in Rochdale Borough Council.

Healthwatch Rochdale has a statutory role to monitor and scrutinise health and social care services, in relation to issues identified as priorities by local people. Scrutiny would take an investigatory approach to determine service delivery expectations against commissioning intentions and user experience to form a series of recommendations to commissioners and providers as appropriate.
