BEIS are seeking a contractor to supply a replacement to the department’s main power sector model, the Dynamic Dispatch Model (DDM) .

The model will be used to provide strategic and tactical analysis for policy makers in the department and will need to be both flexible and highly granular to allow BEIS analysts to effectively influence decision making.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

BEIS are looking into options regarding the replacement of the department’s main power sector model, the Dynamic Dispatch Model (DDM)

BEIS are looking to find out more from suppliers who have extensive knowledge of and experience with modelling and the Great British (GB) power sector. BEIS are looking to see the new model provided in one of two ways:

1. A licence to use an existing power sector model (for a minimum of 3 years), or

2. A replacement / upgrade of the existing model, with the final product to be owned by BEIS and supported by a maintenance contract (for a minimum of 3 years)

BEIS would be looking to suppliers to share their expertise on which would be the better choice and provide options on how this could be delivered.
