Explanation:

In February 2022, a competition was launched for ‘HMPPS Prisoner, Family and Significant Other Services’. The tender included a contract for HMP Morton Hall. However, after this process, it came to light that HMP Morton Hall still required some services that were previously part of the Prisoner, Family and Significant Other contract.

These services related to welfare and visit bookings and are required so families can book visits at this location and so prisoners received welfare assistance at the start and end of their sentence. This is a very short-term contract to ensure there isn't a gap in service.
