We are currently redeveloping our exhibitions, galleries and displays across the Royal Observatory Greenwich, London as part of a major capital project, 'First Light'. This includes a number of distinctive yet connected exhibition environments which we have grouped together to form discrete narrative workstreams. We are currently seeking design teams to work with us on two major exhibition groupings: ‘Our Place on Earth’ (this procurement) and ‘Our Place in the Universe’ (a separate procurement).

For 'Our Place on Earth' we are looking for a Lead Exhibition Designer to work with us to create new displays that celebrate the inspiring innovation, ingenuity and dedication of the people who lived and worked at the ROG, and the remarkable architecture which surrounded them. Our emphasis will be what happened here, on this remarkable site, and how it changed the world.

The scope of services will include full exhibition design services, with 3D, 2D and lighting design as core requirements.

The scope of services includes full exhibition design services. The Lead Exhibition Designer will steer the creative process and coordinate all information from their design team, with the following core services forming part of their team:

* 3D design of the exhibition spaces, including setworks and exhibits including display cases

* 2D design for the display, including graphics

* Full exhibition lighting design

This list is not exhaustive and Lead Designers may propose relevant subcontractors and specialists for this project.
