Description
UKAEA wishes to engage with potential suppliers, for the provision of real-time software and FPGA engineers in order to develop new capabilities to enable fusion power plant control systems. Plasma control systems need advanced real-time control and instrumentation systems. There is a gap in the supply chain in this area. Our vision is to stimulate the creation of an ecosystem of interoperable comments with standard interfaces, protocols and engineering methods. We call this "fusionics", analogous to "avionics" capability as found in aerospace. Building on a successful project as part of year one of the Fusion Futures Programme, we seek a supplier to develop components, skills and capability relevant to this area. After the engagement exercise, UKAEA intend to issue an Invitation to Tender through the EU Supply and Find a Tender (CDP) portals The P172 Realtime Fusionics Components Webinar is scheduled to take place on 8th July 2025 at 1pm.
