The objectives of the new facilities• The primary objective of the Sports Facilities is to provide educational, recreational, social, leisure and cultural opportunities for academy students and the community and to provide opportunities for local people and sports organisations to participate in sport and physical activity and to develop their skills, particularly among low participant groups.• The operation of the Sports Facilities should achieve the following mutually desirable outcomes:o The National Curriculum requirements for physical education.o The sports facilities are available for the maximum possible community useo The sports facilities are safe, secure and properly maintained for all userso The maintenance of a balanced programme of use, which satisfies academy needs and provides for a wide range of community use in compliance with conditions associated with any external funding.
