two.1.4) Short description

The Inventory management system project is to implement an IM system to manage medical and surgical products to improve patient care, quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness and reduce overall financial and safety risk.

For UCLH it will need to integrate with the Trust’s ordering and NHS Supply Chain systems as well as with finance (Oracle Fusion), EHRS (Electronic Health Records System) (EPIC is the system name) and product catalogues to provide visibility and efficient management of stock (further considerations around EHRS (EPIC).

An IM System tracks products through the entire supply chain or in an area of the business it operates in, it enables barcoding, reporting, forecasting, alerts, accounting, automated ordering, tracking and multiple location management.

It enables an organisation such as UCLH to oversee the constant flow of goods into the Trust and as they are consumed.

We would like to engage with the market to ensure all due diligence is undertaken and we understand the capabilities of the market and the systems available and future innovations have been considered, before we start the procurement process.
