The initial contract duration would be 84 months, with 2 extensions available the duration of the first extension is for 24 months and the second is a 12-month extension.

GMCA and TfGM is looking to establish a contract for a Service Provider to design, build, maintain and support the GMCA and TfGM Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) System.
The DMR System consists of:
a) the DMR Network: including the Common Control Nodes (CCN) and the logging recorders in the Metrolink Trafford and Queens Road Depots, at least 14 base station transmitters sites, at least 12 Radio Frequency over Fibre (RFoF) repeaters sites and the associated backhaul network and internet services;
b) LTE (Long Term Evolution – 3G, 4G & 5G) Service provided by the UK Public Cellular Network providers as a fallback.
c) gateways and interfaces to third-party systems, such as telephony, AVL and etc.
d) cloud hosted management, monitoring, support and maintenance tools and sub-systems.
e) initially up to 2100 vehicle radio terminals and 300 portable handheld radio terminals, collectively referred to as DMR Terminals; and
f) initially up to 65 Dispatcher Consoles.
The procurement will be via an Open procedure and is anticipated to have a contract commencement date of the 3rd May 2023.The contract would commence in early May 2023.The initial contract duration would be 84 months, with 2 extensions available the first at 24 months and the second at 12 months in duration.
