Public Mental Wellbeing Programme - Lot 1: Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Training and Engagement; Lot 2: Men's Mental Wellbeing Service; Lot 3: Community Bereavement Support Service for Adults and Children and Young People.
The mental health of the residents of Blackburn with Darwen has a significant impact on it as a place. Having good mental health and wellbeing allows individuals to be prosperous, to contribute to the economy, to play a part in their communities and ultimately to be happier and healthier. It is associated with a range of better outcomes for people of all ages and backgrounds. Improving mental health and wellbeing is a key priority for all the health and care organisations in the borough. For Lot 1, the overall aim of this service is to reduce stigma and improve knowledge and understanding around mental health, mental wellbeing and suicide prevention across Blackburn with Darwen, using training and learning as a mechanism to do this. For Lot 2, the overall aim of this service is to empower men across the life course to lead healthier, more resilient lives enabling them to contribute meaningfully to stronger families, workplaces and communities in Blackburn with Darwen, through engagement in hyper local activities.

Lot 3. Community Bereavement Support Service for Adults and Children and Young People
Description
The overall aim of this service is to provide low level emotional and practical support to individuals who have been bereaved, reducing stigma, supporting them to grieve and preventing the escalation of distress by offering early intervention. The service would provide a range of support options to address the social, emotional, and practical needs of people who have been bereaved.
