two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Cardiff University are looking for one supplier to provide modern, cashless laundries, at all designated sites, 365 days a year with no capital outlay or cost to the University (except those costs that arise from the utilities/services outlined below)
The facilities will include as a minimum:-
Heavy duty washing machines
Heavy duty dryers
Instructions/posters (Bi-lingual Welsh and English to comply with sections 9.1-9.4 of the Cardiff University Welsh Language Operational Standards policy)
Seating (where space allows)
The University will provide gas, electricity, data provision, WI-FI, hard-wired internet facilities, drainage, lighting, and water to the laundries without charge, and tender proposals should take account of the direct costs incurred by the University in providing utilities throughout the duration of the contract period.
The University will ensure all laundries are kept clean, tidy and will take all reasonable steps to ensure the security and protection of the equipment by means of a regular check by university staff, including the removal of fluff (in dryers), wiping of seals and doors (in all machines).
Sales Revenue will be paid by the successful supplier to the University on a monthly basis.
The University are hosting a Teams, supplier and sector engagement day on Monday 25th November 2024, Teams meeting, 2pm – 3pm.
The objectives for the day are;
a. Gauge and generate interest around the contract opportunity and assess the suppliers ability to support the indicative timelines
b. Obtain feedback and answer any questions on the requirement as currently defined.
c. Provide an opportunity for suppliers to raise any concerns they may have.

All presentation documentation, questions and answers will be published against the opportunity on the Portal following the event.
