The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) wish to engage Suppliers in a market engagement exercise in anticipation of a sub-OJEU procurement in January 2023 via the Find a Tender website. The contract will be for an Irrigation system project at the Animal Plant and Health Agency (APHA) facility at Woodham Road Addlestone, known more commonly as APHA Weybridge.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) wish to engage Suppliers in a market engagement exercise in anticipation of a sub-OJEU procurement in January 2023 via the Find a Tender website. The contract will be for an Irrigation system project at the Animal Plant and Health Agency (APHA) facility at Woodham Road Addlestone, known more commonly as APHA Weybridge. The required services will support the delivery of the Science Capability in Animal Health (SCAH) construction programme which is a Government funded capital programme to upgrade the existing science facilities at the APHA site to create a world leading campus style facility by 2036.

The works / services required are design and installation of an irrigation system. It will be delivered in two workstreams.

The irrigation system workstream 1 will be composed of pump, inlet pipeline (depending on the solution), In-line filtration, manifold with 12 irrigation zones, distribution lines with sprinklers, electronic controller with HMI screen, any other devices/systems to be envisaged by the designer. (e.g., legionella risk control system, automatic valves, etc).

The irrigation system workstream 2 is a high-level sprinkler type irrigation system installed below the new roof and the harvesting rainwater.

The purpose of this market engagement exercise is to test market appetite and to undertake a high level capability assessment for a potential future Procurement exercise to provide a Dung Clamps Irrigation System at the APHA site in Weybridge .
