two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Local enhanced services provided by GPs, over and above the core (essential and additional) services to their patients. The aim of local enhanced services are to meet the needs of the local population, recognising and addressing gaps in the core services in order to reduce the necessity for admission to secondary care. The contracts also cover GPs with Extended Role services which, in addition to their core General Practice, a role that is beyond the scope of GP training and requires accreditation to fulfil the role and the ICB must identify a specific need for the service to be delivered at a specific practice. Services are being offered to general practice from 01 April 2023 for a period of 3 years until 31st March 2026.

NHS Devon ICB is satisfied that these services can only be undertaken by GP practices that hold the lists of Devon registered patients and as such are the only capable providers. These services are supplementary services to GP core contracts and each individual contract is of relatively low value.
