The Trust is seeking to appoint a Supplier to deliver a fully integrated end-to-end managed service solution to provide benefits and efficiencies to the Trust, Clinical staff and service users.

The successful bidder will manage the provision of the complete service as described in this and other attached documents. This will include funding, equipment installation and commissioning and the supply of, training, maintenance, consumables, service availability and supporting services, along with any third party involvement.

The successful bidder will take over existing assets and contracts from the Trust and enter into contracts with new providers on behalf of the Trust.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

UHB Imaging Services are situated across four main sites, Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (BHH), Good Hope Hospital (GHH) and Solihull Hospital (SH).

Additional Departments include Nuclear Medicine, Birmingham PET Centre and Birmingham Chest Clinic (BCC). The Breast Service for QEH (which include Breast Screening) is located at Birmingham Women’s Hospital (BWH) but is a function of UHB.

UHB Imaging Services provides comprehensive services, accepting both regional and supra-regional diagnostic and interventional referrals to a wide range of clinical specialties. The service also supports large and busy emergency departments across all sites except Solihull Hospital. The Department at QEH provides imaging support for the Royal Centre Defence Medicine and is a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre.

Across the sites Imaging Services carries out in the region of 900.000 examinations and procedures each year, spread across all of the diagnostic and interventional modalities.
