As outlined in the Joint Health & Well Being Strategy 2019/20 - 2023/24, Havering_Council_Health_and_Wellbeing_Strategy 2020.pdf the Council's vision is that everyone in Havering enjoys a long and healthy life, and has access to the best health and care services. For Extra Care housing, the Council's vision is for quality housing for older people who wish to live independently with high quality care and support services that promote well-being, meet individual needs, lifestyles and inclusive communities.
The London Borough of Havering (the Council) is commissioning a Care & Well-Being Support Service in the borough's three Extra Care Schemes for a three year contract (+1 year plus 1 year extension option) with a commencement date of 1st July 2023. Whilst Providers will be familiar with the term 'care' (i.e. refers to the care service users receive directly), the term 'well-being support' widens the work associated with housing related support (further detail in Section 6.3).
The Council is seeking to commission one provider to deliver this service across the three Extra Care schemes in Havering to deliver efficiencies.
