The Department for Transport (DfT) is seeking a Transport Economics Training provider to conduct specific training courses pertaining to the key principles of transport economics and how those principles are practically applied.

The Department is seeking a supplier who will deliver learning interventions covering two core topic areas:

1. Transport Investment Appraisal (TIA), and

2. Transport Infrastructure and Economic Performance (TIEP)

The training will be offered both face-to-face (London) and virtually. Further details can be found in the ITT pack. Please note, suppliers will need to register to DfT's e-sourcing platform to access the ITT pack and formally submit a tender response:

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Department for Transport (DfT) is seeking a Transport Economics Training provider to conduct specific training courses pertaining to the key principles of transport economics and how those principles are practically applied.

The Department is seeking a supplier who will deliver learning interventions covering two core topic areas:

1. Transport Investment Appraisal (TIA), and

2. Transport Infrastructure and Economic Performance (TIEP)

This requirement is for the delivery of the following courses from February 2023 to February 2025. DfT will also have the option of extending the contract by one further year to February 2026.

Volume is subject to DfT demand. The illustrated forecasted figures may be subject to change:

• Up to 9 TIA courses

• Up to 6 TIEP courses

The supplier should deliver learning interventions so that delegates:

• are confident that they understand the core principles of transport appraisal and the links between transport infrastructure and economic performance.

• can explain these core principles in a clear and accessible way to non-specialists.

• are highly effective in designing, undertaking and delivering high-quality transport appraisals; and

• are highly proficient in reviewing and critically challenging appraisals produced by others.

This contract will be let on an initial term of 2 years (24 months). The extension provision of +1 year (12 months), is subject to DfT need. The published total (maximum) value of this contract incorporates the full term, inclusive of the +1.
