two.1.4) Short description

The NHS Blood and Transplant, Welsh and Scottish Blood Services wish to procure a supply of blood grouping reagents which meets or exceeds our specification (which includes the UK guidelines).
Designated laboratories will assure compliance with the UK Guidelines on a batch by batch basis and acceptable batches will be required to be reserved for the different Blood Services use. The full and pro-active cooperation of the supplier(s) to enable this validation is essential.
These contracted reagents will be used by Donor Testing and Red Cell Immuno-haematology laboratories of NHSBT, Scotland and Wales.
NHSBT, SNBTS and WBS use a variety of technologies currently in Donor Testing departments and RCI laboratories and the antisera should be compatible as relevant.
