The contractor is to undertake a Phase II interpretative ground assessment for the site at Kenyon Way, Little Hulton, Salford. The Phase II report is to assess the ground based geotechnical and environmental risks, constraints and liabilities associated with the proposed development of the site which is to be redeveloped as a ground mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) facility. The Phase II report is required to support contaminated land planning conditions, allow the design of economic foundation solutions and determine whether the local ground is suitable for the installation of the ground mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) facility.
The site is approximately 3.4 ha in size. The proposed solar PV facility development will include equipment that will be generally low lying (approx. height 2.4m) and capable of screening from surrounding vantage points. There will be a galvanised security fence of approx. 2.4m height around the site and there will be a proposed substation situated to the north west of the site. HV cables and other associated equipment cables will run beneath the site. Refer to Phase 1 Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Desk Study Report prepared by AECOM Limited for further information (report revision 0 dated 28 February 2020).
