Norfolk County Council wishes to procure a contractor to undertake the construction of the Long Stratton Bypass to the south of Norwich in Norfolk, a county in eastern England. The Long Stratton Bypass is a highway scheme to remove through traffic on the A140 from the centre of Long Stratton by providing a bypass to the east of the town.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Long Stratton Bypass is a highway scheme to remove through traffic on the A140 from the centre of Long Stratton by providing a bypass to the east of the town. The scheme entails:- Single carriageway road stretching from Church Lane to the north, south for a distance of 3.9km;- Provision of three new roundabouts and two new junction arrangements;- Two new overbridges, one vehicular and one pedestrian;- A new 450m single carriageway link into the town from the bypass;- The contract will include ancillary works such as provision for non-motorised users, necessary realignment of the existing local road and Public Right of Way network and the provision of environmental and ecological mitigation measures.

This procurement will be managed electronically via the Council`s e-procurement system.
