two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Defra Group Commercial are looking for a supplier to procure all terrain vehicles (ATVs) to cut and gather of fen meadow vegetation with a 4-year contract.
We currently have a ATV (Softrak 120) with a cut & collect mower and a rear collection bin. We are looking to procure more ATVs, however we need one quantity of ATV by the End of March 2025, this ATV will be either have the same or of a similar/improved function and must meet the following requirements:
· Low ground pressure
· Ability to work on wet and sensitive sites safely and leaving minimal impact
· Mower / Vegetation cutting attachment - ideally one which cuts material into small pieces to encourage quick rot down when left in a pile
· Ability to cut and collect vegetation in one process
· Ability to cart cuttings off site/to other areas of site
· Ability to dup cut material easily at target destination
· Desirable with Softrak 120 attachments
· Ideally front and rear 3 point linkage to allow use of other equipment. E.g. Standard flail mowers - ideally standard PTO on at least the rear linkage set up
· Ideally with the ability to convert into a flat bed utility vehicle when not cut and collecting.
· A machine which will work with the current width and height clearance of the rides, these are currently managed to allow passage to approx. 3.3m max height and the rides are mown approx. 1.8-2m wide.
· Suitable for working large areas of fen but also with manoeuvrability for small clearings/glades
This is a Prior Information Notice and not a formal tender. In this Prior Information Notice, please respond to the followings:
