This tender will be made up of 2 lots. One to provide architectural designs for bus depots, and one to provide Quantity Surveyor support for the bus franchising programme.

The architect must have experience of designing bus depots and/or stations up to and including RIBA 4. They must also have experience of designing zero emission bus charging infrastructure.

Due to the specialised nature of the cost requirements, the successful quantity surveyor should have extensive experience of bus, depots, charging infrastructure and buildings including contaminated land and asbestos disposal.

The architectural designs will need to include new build layouts up to RIBA 2, feasibility layouts up to RIBA 2 and refurbishment designs. There may also be the requirement to provide detailed design to RIBA 4 that can be used by a construction contractor to deliver against. The architect must have experience of designing bus depots and/or stations

The QS will need to provide acurate costs of the architectural designs, and may also be required to provide a quality assurance function for the Combined Authority to ensure costs put forward by contractors to carry out the works are correct. This function may not be exclusive to depots, but may be used across the entire bus reform programme.
