two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Council requires a service for the provision of a kerbside sort service for collection and recycling of multi-materials including food waste from approximately 19,700 households within Castlereagh East of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area. Materials collected include, glass bottles and jars, paper, cardboard, plastics, food and drinks cans, textiles, aerosols, cartons and foil. Food waste is collected from approximately 7,000 households.

The contractor will be required to provide a weekly collection and recycling service and comprehensive reports on service delivery, tonnages collected and recycled by material type including end destinations and supporting end destination evidence. The purpose of this PIN is to notify the market of the requirement in the future, as well as reduce the timeframes for tendering once this is live.
