two.2.4) Description of the procurement

NHS Calderdale CCG commissioners invites suitably qualified and experienced healthcare service providers including third sector organisations, social enterprise and other providers to provide Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services to people in Calderdale.

The IAPT service will be required to provide identification, assessment and treatment of adults (aged 18+) with common mental health disorders, in accordance with appropriate NICE guidance and NHS IAPT manual, with the aim of improving wellbeing and quality of life in line with Calderdale Cares and the Calderdale Wellbeing Strategy.

The commissioners are seeking patient centred solutions for the provision of this service with the following aims:

• Early intervention and promotion of self-directed support and recovery, including signposting and linking to VCSE/third sector support.

• Provision of the least intrusive, most effective intervention first.

• Encouraging innovation and use of technology within service delivery.

• Providing a blended offer i.e. face to face, by telephone or digital to enable people to make a choice that suits their personal preference.

• Demonstrating how the needs of the whole adult population in Calderdale are met: including people from protected groups and those who experience inequality, including but not limited to people with a learning disability, who are neurodiverse, and whose first language isn't English.

In order to achieve the above aims and objectives the successful bidders should pay attention to following facets:

• Equitable and high quality clinical provision

• Integration and coordination amongst various services to be provided under IAPT

• Sustainability

• Continuous Improvement

• Proactive promotion of the service and experience by people from protected groups, and those who experience inequality in Calderdale

• Patient experience and positive outcomes

Based on the attached information, current AQP providers are asked to confirm that they still wish to be accredited to provide the service.
