Contract value = £1.38m turnover (3 years)

Holy Cross Catholic High School is a school of approx. 985 pupils in years 7-11.

The contract will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years.

Headteacher welcome – Holy Cross Catholic High School continues to provide an outstanding Catholic Education for the children of Chorley and the surrounding area. It is a vibrant and welcoming school dedicated to the formation of successful and rounded young people. Within our school community there is a strong spirit of cooperation, kindness and love where people are valued and respected. Together we strive to produce young people with ideas and ambition, who have a clear vision of what they want to achieve in life. Our pupils have a strong sense of service and compassion for those in need and who have, above all, a love and zest for life.

We are proud of our achievements, of our ‘Good’ Ofsted report and ‘Outstanding’ Diocesan report. There is always more to be done and our Governors and entire staff are focused on continued improvement.

The school has a modern main dining area and two additional service areas, one in the hall and a second in a recently built extension next to the hall. The school is looking for a catering partner who will work collaboratively with them to continue to develop and enhance the service in line with student expectations, healthy eating principles and a strong environmental ethos. Innovation and continuous improvement will form a key component of ensuring that value for money is delivered to the students and the school.

Admitted body status will be expected as there are some members of catering staff in the local government pension scheme.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
