The service would be inclusive of -
● Transport of samples from Macclesfield - the Customer will arrange for samples to be adequately packaged and ensure the dispatching site is compliant with all transport arrangements
● Laboratory processing of wet tissue to H&E slides - inclusive of cut up by a Pathologist or HPC registered BMS, Embedding, Sectioning, H&E slides (irrespective of quantity), Further Work (irrespective of number or quantity) and Special Stains
● Diagnostic report by a Consultant Pathologist, to include 5% quality control peer review.
● 2nd opinion work
● MDT meeting support - either by teleconferencing or in person.
● Storage of blocks and slides for the duration of the contract

In accordance with the onboarding process the Mid Cheshire Hospital team has identified a suitable provider to deliver histopathology support for the dermatology pathway in Cheshire East. The decision to on board the provider was made via the internal governance process and is satisfied it will deliver the immediate clinical needs of a patient and in line with the conflict-of-interest policy.
