This contract is for Community Learning provision. Durham County Council's DurhamLearn Service are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency to secure adult education opportunities in County Durham. The DurhamLearn Service is designated as the 'Provider' of this learning through provision that it secures by means of contracts with delivery organisations. This opportunity is for provision of Community Learning opportunities for adults aged 19+.

Bidders are invited to submit a response for providing Community Learning, non-accredited programmes, by the deadline stated for delivering the requirements in the Tender documents specification.

This Community Learning delivery opportunity supports the following delivery themes:

• Life Skills/Preparing People for Work - employability and labour market re-entry, supporting adults to operate confidently and effectively in life and work

• Supporting learners with additional needs - including learning difficulties and/or disabilities to progress into work/further learning.

• Personal and Community Development Learning - learning for personal and community development, cultural enrichment, intellectual or creative stimulation

• Wider Family Learning - learning to help different generations of family members to learn together how to support their children's learning

• Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities - supports local Voluntary and other third sector organisations to develop their capacity to deliver learning opportunities for the residents of disadvantaged neighbourhoods

Description of renewals

The duration of this contract is for the academic year 2022/23 to 31 July 2023 subject to the right of the Council (at its sole discretion) to exercise its right to extend for a term or terms to be determined by the Council (at its sole discretion) but for an additional overall term of no greater than a further 12 months from the actual end date. The maximum length of this Contract is therefore 19 months.
