Leidos Supply Ltd intends to award a framework agreement to Prytime Medical Devices Inc for the supply and support of Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA).
This agreement will last for up to 3 years with an estimated value of £272,000 - £680,000.
It is considered that this contract can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice pursuant to Article 32 (b)(ii) of Directive 2014/24/EC of the European parliament and of the council (regulation 32(2) (ii) of PCR 2015). Under regulation 32 (2)(b)(ii) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 using the negotiated procedure without prior publication when competition is absent for technical reasons.
Prytime Medical Devices Inc are the sole vendor to the UK for the main REBOA devices (catheter and catheter kit) required by the Ministry of Defence customer.
If a company was selected that is not manufacturer approved then this could alter the performance characteristics of the devices, as well as potentially incurring significant medical malpractice claims.
