Following the unexpected, sudden end of the existing catering contract, the school is making a direct award of the catering contract for 12 months on the grounds of extreme urgency. The award is made to ensure continuity of food supply for their students and to allow for a brief TUPE process to protect the employment of the catering staff. The current contract is ending early on the 25th of October and this does not allow for an accelerated process and TUPE consultations.
