The aim of this Service is to provide a range of appropriate preventative and responsive interventions that support children, young people and their carers subject to increased risks to recover and maintain their mental health and emotional wellbeing. A key element of the success of this service will be its ability to provide systemic support delivered on a case by case basis and tailored to the individual needs of the child and the family unit. The service needs to provide a holistic response to cared for children (Knowsley’s preferred terminology) that provides support to enable sustained, positive relationships with their primary care givers and more stable placements.
