The Land Integrated Operating Service (LIOS) sets out to improve the through-life management of the Army’s current in-and near-service military vehicles and selected equipment (Land Equipment) in line with Defence and Security Industrial Strategy. Specifically targeting the MoD’s support contracts, it broadly seeks better equipment availability and readiness (upkeep), improved technical performance through life (regular updates), and a more routine and deliverable programme of capability upgrades.
