Reference can be made to Section 41 of the Procurement Act 2023 permitting a direct award in specific cases, and the direct award justifications set out in schedule 5 of the Procurement Act 2023 as this is a sole supplier of Shandon embedding centres, microtomes and tissue processors in Norther Ireland and maintenance of this equipment cannot be performed by any other company. No competition or alternative exists for this product.
