two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Heritage Collections at Parliament are looking to lease at least 3,000 square metres of non-shared floor space, within an object storage facility. This will be for an initial term of 5 years plus an optional extension period of up to 5 years in one year extensions, with a potential capacity uplift from 2028. This must be located within 2 hours travel via public transport of the Westminster site and allow Parliamentary staff to work within the dedicated spaces. The facility must be fit for the purpose of storing heritage objects within climate-controlled spaces and have an ancillary space for use as a conservation studio. It needs to provide industry-standard, object storage systems (at 3.5m high) with good floor loading to enable the efficient storage of different object media. The Contract will also require transport in appropriate, secure, electric, air-ride vehicles and a regular porterage service up to three times per week with a team of 4-6 technicians.All organisations expressing an interest in this opportunity will be required to complete an NDA and then will be invited to an online Teams presentation, the date of which is to be confirmed, but is likely to be week commencing 20th November 2023.The duration of the contract will be five initial years with five further optional 1-year extensions, totalling 10 years (5+1+1+1+1+1). The estimated value of the contract is across the full 10 year duration.
