UK Research and Innovation, through its component Research Council the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) requires the supplier to produce ceramic Yb:YAG gain media discs with Cr:YAG cladding, intended for use in a 10 J laser amplifier head.

After delivery, and before installation, a dielectric anti-reflection coating will be applied to the discs. These optics will be shipped to the United Kingdom where they will be integrated into a new laser system, built by STFC.
