two.1.4) Short description

Haringey Council ("the Council") invites tenders from General Practitioners to deliver the provision of Public Health commissioned General Practitioners Prevention Services.

The aim of the services is to improve the health of Haringey residents and reduce health inequalities by providing services that are tailored to local health needs and improve outcomes of residents in their communities.

The service provision may be broken down into multiple lots, for example:

• Lot 1 - Opiate Substance Misuse Service

• Lot 2 - Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)

• Lot 3 - Stop Smoking Service

• Lot 4 - NHS Health Checks

General Practitioners will need to demonstrate that they meet the minimum requirements for delivering the service as set out within the procurement documents.

Opiate substitute prescribing (OSP) is the evidence-based treatment for opiate dependency. It includes using medications, including methadone and Buprenorphine combined with psychosocial interventions.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Haringey General Practices may apply to be registered as a provider of the Enhanced Service for Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Device Fitting (IUCD) if they meet the eligibility criteria for both the practice (premises and systems) and for individual clinicians providing the service.

This is an 'Open Access' service for Haringey residents registered with a GP in Haringey, this implies that residents may access this service from participating surgeries irrespective of whether they are registered with the provider surgery.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The focus of the Stop Smoking services within GP practices is to offer: Very Brief Advice, (VBA) and one to one support to local residents who want to give up smoking.

The Service shall improve access for Haringey residents to stop smoking support and where appropriate, supply Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and pharmacological interventions as prescribed by their GP. Complex clients requiring specialist support shall be referred to the specialist service at One You Haringey.

The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in Haringey aged 40 to 74. It's designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia.

Tenders will be scored 100% on quality of responses submitted.

The prices have been fixed within the service specifications by Haringey Council based on benchmarking with other Local Authorities and agreed with Local Medical Committee (LMC) and Haringey GP Federation.

Anticipated contract start date will be 1st April 2022.

The contract shall run for a period four (4) years with an option to extend for a further period or periods of up to a total of four (4) years in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, and subject to satisfactory performance. For avoidance of doubt, the maximum length of the contract would be eight (8) years, if extended.
